Golden Griddle – Jarvis St.
I went to the Golden Griddle on Jarvis to have breakfast with my fiancée and my dad. We got there around 9.30 am. We sat outside. The patio was sort of okay but with the traffic whizzing by it made the experience less enjoyable.
Some Facts:
The Golden Griddle is just south of the St. Lawerence Market. The best way to get there by highway is to take the Gardiner and go north on Jarvis. The restaurant is on West side of the street.

Golden Griddle on Jarvis St.
Overall: 3 out of 5
The food was good but not worth what it cost. This is the sort of place that is only worth going to if you’re in the neighbourhood and off to the St. Lawrence Market right afterward. This is certainly not a place to go out of your way to get to.
Cost: 3 out of 5
The meal cost $40.00 ($35.49 before tip) for the 3 of us. That is $10-$15 per person.
Food: 3 out of 5
There was a buffet for $9.95 that I contemplated getting but a lot of the food looked like it had been left over from the week before. My dad opted not to get it either. There seemed to be a lot of value for the cost from a quantity perspective but not quality.
The strawberry crépes were very good. It would have been really nice with some ice cream but that was not an option. There were 3 strips of bacon which were passable.
Keri had the eggs with sausages and pancakes. She ordered buckwheat but they gave her regular. The pancakes were fine but nothing great. She told me that she has tasted a lot better.
Coffee: 2.5 out of 5
The coffee was marginal. The refills were free but they didn’t come often since the server was not around much.
Décor: 3 out of 5
We sat outside. In general the décor was nothing special. The idea of facing the St. Lawrence Market is a good one but there is a lot of heavy traffic which going to or coming from the highway, that it makes it difficult to enjoy the scenery.
Service: 2.5 out of 5
The waitress that served us seemed to be on her first day. So we should probably cut her some slack but even so the service was quite bad. We were sat at a table for 2 but we were 3. When an extra table opened up next to us we were not offered it.

Yo,
I love the modifications that you’ve made to this theme! It looks great, and the date boxes are especially wicked.
Nice work!
Chris
