Green Eggplant

This is simply the best breakfast in the beach. Our waitress was very good, the atmosphere was nice and the food was to perfection. The only thing that had been keeping us from trying this spot was their sign outside. It makes the restaurant look like one of those alternative vegetarian spots. Don’t let that stop you from experiencing this gem.

This is the previous location of the beaches Il Fornello.
Food: 9 out of 10
The food was excellent and the presentation was very good as well. I had the Beaches Sunrise (bacon and eggs that came with hash browns). There was a bonus sausage included. Everything on the plate was very well done. The hash browns (their version of crispy potato pancakes) were nice and crunchy but soft inside – simply fantastic.
I also had a serving of the Belgian Waffles with pure Maple Syrup. Again, excellent. The waffles were a bit hard and a bit soft – just done right. They came with a scoop of ice cream which was a nice touch. Unlike many places the fresh fruit was fresh and added to the waffles.
Coffee: 7 out of 10
The coffee was just okay and was not included in the price of the breakfast.
Décor: 9 out of 10
Very nicely done. It was spacious and comfortable. They maintained a lot of the feel of the old Il Fornello. It’s nice and open and airy.
Service: 9 out of 10
Excellent. Our waitress was charming, punctual and attentive. She went with the flow and made every effort to make us feel comfortable.

I went to this restaurant with my husband and the food was so terrible that we didn’t even finish it and didn’t take it home with us either.
Our server acted like as if he was pissed off that he got a table that was asking questions about what was in their food and I don’t think I saw a smile on any of the other servers faces the whole time I was there.
The drink presentation was great even if the drink tasted horrible and the only thing that is nice about the place is the decor. But since I’m paying more for the food than the experience it was NOT worth it. The food was tasteless and I can’t say it was bad cause it didn’t taste like anything.
We ended up paying then went across the street to a place called Nevada and had a great time and ate some great food with flavor. I would never go back to green eggplant again.
