Eggspectation
Overall: 6.75 out of 10
This is tourist destination is a breakfast factory. It’s clear that the food is pre-made and assembled at the time of order. The vibe of the restaurant is one of chatter and noise, but it lacks soul. The get in and get out attitude is in full force.

Eggspectation
Some Facts:
Eggspectation originated in Montreal and has expanded into Ontario, the US and even has one location in New Delhi, India.

I had the Yoke Around the Clock, “a bagel cut in half, toasted then put on the grill, two sunny eggs in the holes of the bagel, covered with bacon and melted cheese, served with grilled potatoes and chef’s fruit garnish” as per their menu. Holy melted cheese! I was hungry because I ran a 5km race that morning, but the meal was pretty tasteless. It was sopping in greasy melted cheese. On the plus side the eggs and bacon were done to my liking.
Pat ordered the Eggstravaganza which according to the menu comes with two eggs (any style) and two slices of French toast, sausages, served with grilled potatoes and chef’s fruit garnish and he ordered a side of bacon. The food looked like it was pre-made, similar to what you would find at a buffet and then re-heated for serving. It was bland but plentiful.

Our waitress greeted us with the normal pleasantries, but she was very harried. I felt forced to give my order quickly as it was clear that she wanted to get our order and get going. Our meals were done correctly and nothing was missing except for breathing space and ease.
Décor: 7 out of 10
This is a fairly new establishment that is brightly lit with a factory-style loft appearance – lots of air ducts and pipes showing in the ceiling. The tables are very small, particularly the tables for two. There’s hardly enough room on the table for drinks and main dishes.
You can certainly tell that the idea was to fit as many as people in the place with little thought to people’s actual comfort.
Value: 8 out of 10
Although the food was kind of bland and typical of what you could get at a buffet, there was a lot of it. The servings were a good size for the price that we paid.
